"It would not have been possible to stay at the hospital up to 14 hours a day without a place like the Ronald McDonald House. A place where we always felt welcomed and supported. A place where people in very similar situations lean on each other. A place where people really did care about our day."
Give the greatest gift of all, your time.
There are numerous ways in which to get involved with Ronald McDonald House® of Oklahoma City. One way is to volunteer for a weekly shift at the House or as you have time for cleaning, organizing, repair work, maintaining flowerbeds, receptionist or office work. Many who are unable to come to the House on a regular basis may choose to participate in one of our fundraisers or events, such as the annual Red Shoe Gala in September.
Your help, whether it be through a donation of time or money, enables us to provide a clean and comfortable "almost like home" house for our guest families.
Family Room Volunteers
The role of the Family Room volunteer is to aid in the daily operations of answering telephones, registering families and light housekeeping duties. The volunteers also uphold all Family Room and hospital policies and are supportive to the families who use the Room. The volunteer's part is crucial to maintaining the caring, compassionate atmosphere of the Family Room. Shifts are three to four hours in length and are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly.
Volunteers at the House work closely with our staff and guests by answering phones, registering new families, providing tours, recording donations, preparing mailings, etc. Light housekeeping duties include preparing guest rooms, sorting and folding laundry, loading/unloading dishwashers, etc. Shifts are three hours in length and are scheduled weekly or bi-weekly.
- Thursday or Friday mornings 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Support our fund development and volunteer program through a variety of projects. Assist with data entry, mailings, etc. Proficient computer skills required.
Organizing a garage sale, bake sales, golf outing, etc. can help raise much-needed funds to help support our House and its mission. We rely heavily on fundraisers and donations to meet our operational expenses. Please call our Executive Director to register your fundraiser with us.
Wish List Drive
Keeping our House and Family Room stocked with basic home necessities requires a lot of donated food items and supplies. Our wish list is posted on our website and request items such as non-perishable food items, household goods: laundry detergent and fabric softener sheets, cleaning products, and office supplies. A copy of the current wish list is also available by mail or e-mail upon request. Individuals, families, or groups may deliver donated items to the House daily, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
